Antide Janvier (1751–1855) and
Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747–1823)
constructed several renowned double
regulators, which achieved outstanding
results at auctions. One of them was sold
to the French King Louis XVIII in 1817,
another went to the English court (George
IV). Both clocks still maintain excellent
rates. Nobody succeeded in constructing
double regulators from that time until
